🌱🔥 The Green Sauna Project 🔥🌱
Over the past year, many of us in the Victorian sauna community have been tossing around the same idea: how do we keep the good vibes flowing in our saunas while also giving something back to the environment that sustains us?
We (Ben and Tanja from Phillip Island Sauna) decided to reach out and start a conversation with other sauna businesses across Victoria. The response was clear—lots of sauna owners were already thinking the same thing. Out of those chats, The Green Sauna Project was born.
This project isn’t about one sauna, it’s about all of us. It’s a collaboration of sauna operators who share a simple belief: true wellness begins with a healthy environment. Saunas are about connection, relaxation, and community—but like any business, we leave a footprint. Together, we’re finding ways to shrink that footprint and make a positive difference.
Here’s how it works:
🌳 We look at our energy use (whether firewood or electricity).
🌳 We offset that impact by planting native trees in our local environment.
🌳 Each tree is a step toward restoring habitats, supporting biodiversity, and creating cleaner, healthier surroundings—not just for our guests, but for everyone.
Imagine this: a guest finishes a sauna session feeling recharged, then learns that their visits also helped put trees in the ground. That’s a deeper kind of wellness—one that goes beyond the body to include the planet.
The philosophy is simple: without a healthy environment, we cannot have a truly healthy lifestyle. Together, we can create a network of sauna businesses that lead with sustainability, community, and care.
The Green Sauna Project is just getting started, and we’d love more saunas to join us. Because every sauna, every tree, and every action counts. 💚
